(August 27, 2026)–”The National Council of Farmer Cooperatives (NCFC) is disappointed by the summary judgment striking down the Trump Administration’s Interim Final Rule on H-2A wage rates. The Department of Labor offered a workable solution at a moment when farmers desperately needed relief from a broken wage-setting system. This ruling makes clear that Congress must act now since a durable fix cannot come from the regulatory process alone. House Agriculture Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA) and Rep. Don Davis (D-N.C.) introduced a bipartisan legislative solution that America’s farmers and cooperatives need, H.R. 9535, the Securing Agriculture’s Workforce Act. We urge Congress to swiftly pass this bill and finally give agriculture the labor certainty it deserves.”
