Zach currently serves as the Director of Government Affairs and Sustainability for the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives. He graduated from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law. Before joining NCFC he served as the Associate Director of Government Affairs for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture. Prior to attending law school, he served both the agricultural marketing and business development teams at Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. Zachary also received his Bachelor of Science in agricultural education from Delaware Valley University.

He was born and raised on a small family farm. In his free time, he still actively volunteers with 4-H and FFA and routinely judges livestock exhibitions. He also serves of the boards of his law school, the Pennsylvania FFA Foundation, and the Penn State Rural Urban Leadership Program.
